I Loved You Like I Did,

I keep balance,

Walking the fine line,

Between I wish and I do,

And this all takes time.

The thing about holding on,

So tight your knuckles go white,

And your arms get weak,

Is that there comes a point,

Where holding on,

And letting go,

Seem both as trivial.

I keep you in mind,

How the potential for more,

Can sometimes over power,

My weak and tired soul.

How can I keep hold,

When you seem too far to grasp,

And how do I let go,

When it seems that I’ve just reached you?

The thing about chasing,

Or the thing about waiting,

Is that these things soon weigh me down,

If nothing ever seems to clear.

I’m losing hold,

Letting go,

Because it got too heavy,

Loving you.
