Think of me as a time of day,

Think of me

As a time of day

When the sun breaks through

The gaps between the curtain

And floods your room

In light.

When the sprinklers are on

In the midday of summer

And the cloudless sky

Makes for a tan and

Fresh cut grass.

And sometimes I’ll be

The afternoon commute

When the sun sinks down

Behind city skylines.

I’ll be the shadows that dance

Along your living room walls

When the moon has risen

And the sun has set.

Where street lights glow

And lamp posts stand

Flickering on corners

During the autumn time.

I’m the time of day

That is constantly counting

You’re the time of day

That’s always my favorite.

And no sun kissed day

Or moon glowing night

Could have prepared me for

All your love

And all your light.
